🎨 SpaceJunk: Knoxville’s FIRST Creative Center 🎨

Eee! SpaceJunk is officially here! I’ve dreamed of building a creative reuse store in Knoxville since starting SpaceCraft.

SpaceCraft is all about helping Artists own the full cycle of their creativity, and SpaceJunk is an extension of this mission—from waste to creation!

With the support of brilliant Sustainability Ambassadors, we’ve created a curated collection of second-hand art supplies for all mediums.

We believe that artists are the secret to designing resilient local economies. By purchasing second-hand, SpaceJunk empowers artists to own the full cycle of their creativity.

SpaceJunk is pay what you can! Fill up a bag of any creative goodies that spark joy. You can BYO-bag or borrow one of ours. Simply pop by during an Artists Playground to donate or purchase art supplies (every Tuesday and every other Thursday from 6P-9P).

SpaceJunk is your local alternative to mega craft corporations. Let’s build our own creative ecosystem together!

Atlanta Comedy Abduction 🎤 Sat, 5/31 🎤 7P

​Join Tiny Stage Comedy for another fun Supernova comedy show headlined by JoAnna Brooker from ATL! We’re bringing the laughs with a stacked cast from ATL.

Beginner Belly Dance Workshop 🌹 Mon, 6/2 🌹 6:30P

Belly dance class for all bodies focusing on the joy and release of movement. We will discuss the history and cultural legacy of belly dance. Then, express ourselves through the foundations of belly dance. Perfect for all levels.

Make your own Monster Workshop 💌 Thu, 6/5 💌 6P

Sewing with a self-love twist! Create a perfectly imperfect hand-held sized fleece monster that represents what you love most about yourself. Participants will learn all the basics of hand-sewing, including threading needles, tying knots, and sewing on a button. Will your monster have wings, a tail, scars or long floppy ears? All materials and instructions will be provided to complete a 5 inch tall plush monster in an encouraging and judgement free environment. What will your monster look like?

Join us for this unique opportunity to explore figure modeling in a supportive, professional environment. Whether you're considering modeling as a creative outlet or as a side gig, this workshop will provide you with the skills and confidence to be an art model.

🎀 Message from Tiny Stage Comedy 🎀

 JoAnna Brooker, one of my best and longest friends, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. JoAnna is one of the funniest people I know and truly lights up every room she's in. After moving to Atlanta less than a year ago, JoAnna has already established herself in Atlanta's comedy scene and created an incredible community around her. Everyone who meets her is drawn to her magnetic personality, creativity, and infectious joy for life.

JoAnna will need the support of her community as she undergoes treatment. The money raised through this campaign will go directly to her to cover medical bills and living expenses.

✨ Groovin’ with KCSD ✨

The beauty of SpaceCraft is you can easily create a weekly routine centered around art. Every Monday, I take a class with Knox Community Street Dance and am always blown away by the comradery and shared desire to groove.

In the photo above, I took a Hip Hop class with KCSD’s Vice President, Wes. She walked us through a routine that had us locking and dropping to Leon Thomas’s Mutt.

Many of us are new to Hip Hop and found ourselves laughing and enjoying the silliness of looking cwazy doing something new. If you’re looking to break out of your standard routine, I highly recommend dusting off your sneaks and popping by SpaceCraft for a one of a kind dance class.
