As a Gemini baby, it’s no surprise that Summer is my favorite time of year. I adore the rising energy for shenanigans, the desire to get in the water, and the buzzing creative energy circulating SpaceCraft.

Technique Session 🎤 Mon, 7/21 🎤 6:30P

​​This is not a class but a guided session on how to refine a movement skill. The sesh will start with 15 minutes of skill training and the rest of the sesh can be used to drill, play, or ask for help with the skill.

Gel Plate Demo with Stacy Monday 🎤 Tue, 7/22 🎤 6P

🎨Curious About Gel Printing? Come Watch Stacy Monday in Action! This Tuesday during the first hour of BYO-Craft Night, we’re thrilled to host a special Gel Plate Demo with local artist and creative experimenter Stacy Monday!

If you’ve ever wondered what exactly a gel plate is or how it works, this is the perfect chance to see it in action. Stacy will be making a few DIY gel plates live, sharing tips, and showing off the process step-by-step. It’s a great way to pick up a new craft—or just enjoy watching a cool, squishy printmaking technique unfold.

This informal demo is included with your regular BYO-Craft admission and will run from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, so come early, grab a seat, and see what all the (print)making buzz is about. Come for the demo, stay to make art! The Artists Playground continues ‘til 9 PM!

🌱 Message from Knox Community Street Dance 🌱

 Hello Players! Knoxville’s premiere environmental justice and art conference, A Whole Different Ecosystem, is taking place Saturday August 9th at Ijam’s Nature Center and SpaceCraft! Join us for a day of informative panels, hiphop workshops, and exciting performances as more than just an attendee. As a player, you will engage in an immersive live action role playing experience where you will assume the role of a member of one of the elemental crews: earth, water, air, or fire. Throughout the experience you will explore the interactions of AI and our natural world from the lens of hip hop as a form of artivism.
